Psychological Intelligence Foundation CIC

Certificate In Developmental TA
and/or TA Psychotherapy

Certificate with Postgraduate Option in Developmental Transactional Analysis (DTA) and/or Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (TAP)

This programme is a work-based, very practical programme for those wishing to develop their competence in the professional application of transactional analysis.

It will be relevant to you if you are a coach, counsellor, teacher, trainer, facilitator, consultant, mediator, social worker, human resource professional, psychotherapist, or any other role where you have a professional responsibility for the development and growth of others.

For coaches, the programme can fulfil the academic requirements for the European Mentoring & Coaching Council accreditation as Practitioner ( EMCC EIA Practitioner).

The programme is also highly appropriate for managers, or potential managers, who wish to develop their own professional competence. Once coupled with at least 3 years of managerial experience, it can provide the necessary academic accreditation to obtain  Chartered Manager status in the Chartered Management Institute. Participants can choose to focus on Strategic Leadership, Management Consultancy, or Management of Coaching & Mentoring.

Alternatively, for those at an earlier stage in their management career, it can lead to the   ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management.

It will be equally useful to anyone who wants to develop their own interpersonal skills and increase their understanding and awareness of the dynamics of childhood development, relationships, teams, families, organisations, institutions, communities.

It can also be attended by professionals who already have enough (non-TA) qualifications but would like to add transactional analysis to their repertoire and obtain Practitioner accreditation.

The International Centre for Transactional Analysis Qualifications ( ICTAQ) Certificate, can also represent the first year of studies towards international accreditation as a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) and/or towards an MSc Professional Development.

TA is widely used internationally, has a robust background based on many years’ application in psychotherapy in addition to organisational consulting and training, educational, counselling and coaching specialisms.  DTA and TAP use the same theories - TAP focus is on cure and pathology and DTA is on development and healthy functioning.

It also involves helping clients understand the structures and processes that operate within groups, teams, families, organisations, institutions and communities – so that they can more readily influence the contexts in which they exist, and in which they may have leadership responsibilities.

The program is led by internationally-accredited trainers, who also provide professional supervision/mentoring: this means that credits can also be applied towards accreditation by the international TA associations.

We also accept hours spent learning from our international TA colleagues, subject to some restrictions relating to the differences in training for psychotherapy versus developmental applications of TA.

The program run by Julie Hay TSTA (COPE) can be undertaken mainly through attendance at online webinars, with occasional workshops and summer schools in various locations.
